A lifted face (bis)

You noticed. I have come back to the traditional (former) layout of the blog. I did though like the new modern version. But I have received complaints that there were page breaks and it could not be well read. And then, very important, all the information in the right column were not present in new version. And I consider them important. In particular all the ones refering to my appartenance to the Dudeist movement, something I am proud of and happy to be. I have added in that section "The Dude De Ching" which is the Dudeist version of "The Tao Te Ching", the Holy Book of Taoism. If you click on the picture, you can read our Holy Book online. I am sure that you will enjoy it. It will enlighten you, it will make you think and it will make you smile. And it will show you that, in life, not all the things are very serious. Or, perhaps, they are?

More struggling (almost wordless)

We hope the rains will stop soon. It is very difficult to bring the food to the people who need it dearly.

And more of it (s..t)

Well, luckily, the rainy saison is soon coming to an end. And our struggling on the roads too.

Shit happens

Liberia/Africa: Rainy Season. Bad roads, slippery roads. A lot of trucks in trouble, daily. And some have terrible mishaps. Like this tanker. And now people siphoning fuel into their platic containers. Are they employees from the fuel company or villagers from nearby? Who knows.

A lifted face

My blog has a new face. From time to time. It looks modern, it is magazine type. I like it. And there are different ways you can look at it. If you click on the menu bar on top, you can choose the way you would like to see my blog. I like the "Flipcard" style very much. It shows all my posts and you can click on any of the squares and see the correcponding post.

The magazine style gives you my actual posts. If you click on the title, the whole story comes up.

The "old" blog will, however, still come up from time to time. Just for the people to see what I have on my side bar.

So, enjoy my facelifted blog.

A lot to tell

Yes, it is quite some time since I posted last. I have been very busy and had also little access to internet. I have been spending a lot of time in the bush, along the border between Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. To look after the refugees from the latter country.

It is a complex affair. Often, refugees are settled in camps. And then it is easier to follow them. But here, most of them are scattered all over, mainly in villages along the border. I will explain this to you more in detail in other posts.

The picture above was taken in Harper, in Maryland County, right at the border with Côte d'Ivoire. With my colleague Josephine from Kenya and our driver we are having our breakfast at one of those numerous "boui-bouis" that make delicious fried egg sandwiches and lovely tea or coffee.

I am now here since February, the year is soon coming to an end and it seems that I will still be around here next year.

Since May we have the rainy season which did make travelling not very easy. I have never been in a place before where the rains are so heavy. But soon the dry season will start.

And soon, I will post regularely again.
