Well, the Parliament (both chambers) is having a legislative period of 4 years and then the members have to stand up for election again. Last month we had this election.

So, from January next year, the new legislative period of 4 years will start with a new parliament and a new government. Where SVP will be a member.
I do not have much sympathies for the SVP and I said that many times. They do, even though they are the strongest, not represent what Switzerland really is. A country that opens to the world inspite of SVP's effort to keep us locked in the Alps.
I don't like their leaders either. Except one.
But he is honest and he stands to his word. He does not turn around according to which way the wind blows. In forum discussions he remains straight forward (though defending the wrong position of SVP), making his point, listens to his contrahents and accepts their arguments.
He is a decent man, the SVP does not have many of them.

I'm still trying to understand French politics after 26 years! You have an interesting point about not turning around according to which way the wind blows. French politicians tend to worry too much about their popularity.

I don't much care for socialism because they don't make money.
They have no idea how to make money but they know how to spend it and how to take it away from you.
I always believe that before you can help someone, you have to make sure you are in a position to help.
I don't like bureaucracy because I am a hands on person. I like to do things myself because that's the only way I will see that it is done efficiently.
Today people run to politics to have a job and a pension. They really do not care about the people if the only answers they come with are increasing taxes.That's not solving problems.
Taxes were not meant to be increased, especially when you have more and more people to pay them.lol
