Montreux, my home, my paradise.
Montreux, Christmas Market 2009

Hear, hear:

Let it snow, let it snow. The winter is here and I am travelling with the Swiss Federal Railways and don't fight the bad weather in a car.

Surgery

I am enjoying the last few days of "liberty of movement". Liberty to drive my car. Liberty of banging on my computer keyboard. Liberty of doing anything that needs the use of two hands.

On November 23rd, I will have surgery on my left hand. In particular the small finger. It is 70 percent bent. It is impossible to have it straight. It started to become like this many years ago and bit by bit it became more and more curbed.

It does not hurt but for some things and actions it became weird. After surgery, it will take around 6 weeks to rehabilitate my left hand.

I did never worry why I had this. Was it my way of life? Or is old age simply hitting me (physically). It does not matter. When the "thing" will be done, I still will be able to go on the net. It will take simply a bit more time to write and post.

Because I will use the "eagle" system. Circle around and then dive. On the keyboard with one finger. Because now, I am using two.

I hope that it all goes well for you. We don't appreciate out hands enough - I speak as one with a clicky thumb which will one day need surgery.

Good luck, I'm sure things will go fine. I believe there is free software out there to be able to type with one hand, if you want. Probably not worth learning it just for 6 weeks, but it seems kind of cool. :)

Good Luck-I had a similar operation a few years back-went well.
now for good news.I found a place where we can safely get our ads viewed by others who also have ads-and everyone supports everyone-admin makes sure of it;
It costs $5.00 a month-but you can earn that back the first day.

Simply create a splash page advertising your site(no ads on it)-make sure the link to your page with ads opens in new window-then join TPD-

Then you surf others splash pages-you open them and view their landing pages with ads-they do the same to you.
As long as you follow rules and guidelines you make lots-if you do not they fine then ban you-the Admin is an axxhole but everyone makes very good because of him.

Right now they have a special-2 months free (well 1 cent a month to make script work) and they will make your splash page ad for you.Host it free as well.

It really works, people have been using it for two years so it is safe as long as you do not get greedy :)

delete if you wish

All the best to your surgery.

I hope you won't mind a little advice. I had hand surgery done for crooked fingers and it was a mistake. I lost range of motion, strength and appearance. What happened is that my hand, which looked beautiful right after the surgery, "froze" with the fingers in semi-bent position even though I exercised for what seemed like hours daily. So I'd encourage you to be really, really diligent about doing any exercises prescribed for you, even if they cause discomfort. It may help to take a painkiller first.
